Soccer, Sun, Siblings, etc.

Mom, Aunt Gloria, Mahala and Lynsey watching Tristan's soccer game. This is the one that the referree had decided prior to our arrival, the other team was going to win and they did.
Tristan after his final game. The cousins are pretty close, it is pretty cool. This is my cousin Cody.

This is my cousing Conner, I last saw him when he was a small baby. We traveled to my sister's in Yelm, Washington to spend the weekend with her. Her husband, serves us in the US Navy and is out to sea currently, so we of course went to visit. Tristan her oldest, had a soccer tournament up in Tukwila, so here you see him playing soccer. He is a defender and he stands on the right side usually. His team did rather well, they won 2 and lost 2, but if was fun. Carley, on the other hand, was totally exhausted from all the traveling. It took us about an hour to get from Candi's to the soccer field. Not bad really considering all things, really it was worth if for us to see Tristan play.
The girls were very excited to see some sun, they really were worshipping the rays. On Saturday, they actually got to lay on the grass and sunbathe.
Lynsey cheesin', she usually tries to hide her head, so this a good one.
Candi, watching the game. Carley's new haircute. That was a typo, but I thought it was fitting. Her haircut is cute, so it's a haircute!!
Anyway, it was a fun weekend. I love to see my sister. I am so proud of her and the job she does. Those are great kids and they are just growing up so fast. They step up when dad is gone and really are there for their mom. It is pretty cool. I am proud of you sister!!
Thanks for a fun weekend.

Record setting temperature

So we have had record setting temperatures the last couple of days. Out of the blue it hits 100+ on Friday, nearly 100 on Saturday and 95 today. I tell you, oh my! It's one thing to be ready for the heat, but when it just comes like that, it is crazy. So we had some action in the pool this weekend. Thank goodness for the old 4 ft. Doughboy. We had some friends of ours little one's for the weekend. Derek is 4, and he isn't too sure about the water, but he loved playing beside it. The baby is one, she loved being in the water. I kept them sunscreened, oohy. Little Bit had games both Friday and Saturday, in the heat, but the kids were troopers, they tolerated it really well. Little Bit is Derek's favorite person, so that helped.
Today we had a Youth/Parent Potluck, First Annual, that was kind of fun. It was hot and full in the Youth Room, but it was fun.
Anyway, that is about it for now. Trying to stay cool in the heat wave.
I know, for some of you this is no big deal!

Mother's

Mother's Day was a blessing. I went to church, which is always a blessing. We received a plant from the church, little bit picked it out for me. Came home to change and wait for Mom and Dad so we could go to Kowloon's. That was fun. We hadn't been there for a really really long time. Came home and played some cards while the fellas unclogged the drain.

It is funny, because until you are forced to think about things, sometimes we don't. For instance, my friend here, Jessica, doesn't have a MOM. Her real mother died and her step mother made her life miserable, so she is mine. I also don't think about my own Mom having been raised without her Mother. It is amazing to me that people can give up there children. I am so obsessed with my girls that I cannot even fathom not having them with me. I know there are a number of situations in which people can't keep their children and I don't blame any one for that, I am just saying that I am BLESSED beyond measure. I have a Mom, who loves me and has shown me how to love and for that I can share with others. May God continue to fill my heart with a kind of love that knows no end, so that I may love those who have never felt that special kind of love.
God Bless each one of you Mom's for your love and sacrifices. Especially my own! I love you MOM.

Dirt, Water, and Shopping

Today was a fun day! Jeff started out the day taking Lynsey to the church for her workday. He came home and started planting my new Dogwood tree. It is my Mother's Day present, I was still sleeping!! I loved that part. I was still sleeping. When I finally woke up, I went outside and sat in the chair on the deck, drinking my coffee and watching my husband play in the yard. Now that was a perfect morning. I then finally came to my senses and decided to help him work in the yard. We worked at cleaning things up and making things look good in the back, like it was meant to look. Jeff cleaned up this area in the back side of the house that we used as the dumping ground for everything we didn't know where to put. I started trying to help him with the new garden area. That turned in to the big chore, but it was so much fun. I totally forgot that I had to go shopping and get my mom a Mother's Day present.
I went on my way with Little Bit after I finally got myself cleaned up. We headed to the mall to get Little Bit's hair cut. Well, that was a really good idea, because I could get my eyebrows waxed!! But, Bugg calls before Little Bit is done and needs picked up. Hurry and grab her and take her back to the mall, well she is not going in to the mall dressed like that. She will just wait for us in the rig. Hurry up and get those eyebrows waxed and get back out to the rig, cause she has to shower, shampoo and shine for a birthday party. Well, she hasn't gotten a present yet!!!
Anyway, we managed to stop and get a gift, she wouldn't let her sister and I come in, it would take to long! But she made it, only 2 minutes late.
Little Bit and I decided to do our shopping now. We found some stuff for us, for my friends birthday on Monday, and finally something for MOM. 'bout time I am thinking to myself.
Meanwhile, when we had come home for Bugg's shower and shine, I started the laundry. The pipes are clogged so the washing machine is flooding the garage. So while Little Bit and I are out and about, Jeff needs to take care of all that. All of that. Well, we can't use the kitchen sink or do the laundry, but you know what??? My back yard looks really really good.

Dilema

Today I had to do something I haven't really ever done before. Little Bit received an email this weekend from some "friends". Unsolicited email stating that they had saw her play and that she stunk in it, made their eyes burn, she was brace face, yada yada yada. Well, I know the mom of the one girl so I called her today to see if I could talk to her. She was eager to talk to me as well, but concerned since this isn't really a person I call on a regular basis. So I met with her, she happens to be a teacher, thankfully not at the school Little Bit is at, that would have been awkward. I went in with an open mind, really I did. I didn't want to go in there thinking that my child was perfect and could not possibly have done anything to cause this email to happen. So I expressed this to her, told her what I knew and ask for her opinion and suggestions as well. She received this all very well, I also showed her a copy of the email. She was so great, she hugged me, apologized, thanked me and expressed a desire to get our girls together so they could work out this "issue". I was so grateful, I had prayed last night and this morning that all would go well. I just didn't know how to go about it. But I thought, if Little Bit did this, I would want to know. So I hope that I can be as receptive as she was to me. Thank you for answered prayer.

wonder

The last few days have been quite busy for us here at the homestead. Bugg has been hanging out with me as we travel about for Little Bit's activities. You see Little Bit is involved in quite a few things right now. This is great for Little Bit, but for big sister, this is a cause of contention. Bugg gets slightly jealous of her little sister. Funny, you know because Little Bit idolizes her big sister. Little bit had a play on Friday night, picnic on Saturday for her softball team, followed by church event, followed by play again. Then she was picked up by her Sunday School class to watch a movie about what they have been studying, only to spend the night and come to church with them this morning. Bugg tagged along with me to all these events, she was the photographer for the church event, helped in the nursery as well, but still felt like it was all about her sister. I can't seem to make her understand that it is about BOTH of them. Just differently. They are so different. They do different things, they like different things, they are involved in different things. God made them two different people. But, for some reason as a Mom, I am having a hard time trying to get across to them that they are both invaluable to me. Each one of them has a place in my heart, a tie that can't be unraveled. I don't know, I think this may be the hardest challenge. Not the boys that try to interfere, or the school projects, but each other. Their own worst enemies, but biggest supporters.
How does this all make sense? Sometimes I just don't know.

forgot some

Guess what?? I forgot some, she was a down and out as well and she sure was cute. It is funny to me how different children can be. Lynsey my long legged beauty, isn't interested in being in front of any one! She won't sing in public, nor try to play an instrument alone. But this little bit of mine, she does it all. She is having fun, and for that I am grateful. She won't ever have to say, "What if????"

Bugsy Malone

Chelsey is in a musical this weekend, Bugsy Malone. She did fantastic. We are so proud of her. She is absolutely a talented little girl. She played several different roles.
She started out the show being Roxy Robinson, a character killed off. Bugsy is in the background here.

Here she is a Chorus girl, singing away to Bugsy.

Here she is playing the ventriloquist, who is trying to get a job at Fat Sam's.

This song is Tallulah, she is being a show girl.

This is the final number and they are receiving applause!

I am just so proud of her. She sings, she dances, she acts, she plays the piano, she plays softball, plays soccer, does all her homework, is on Student Council, she does the drama team at church. What can't she do?? I am so amazed at the gifts she has and the ability to use them. She will definitely bless the Lord if she continues to do what He asks of her. I am a truly blessed Mother.
