Concert

The kids and I headed for Portland, The Rose Garden for an amazing evening of Christian Bands. Seven bands in all and the ticket price was only $10. Couldn't beat that. We had so much fun. Enjoy the pictures.

Choir Concert

Last night was the Winter concert for Peanut's choir. They get to wear the red robes, but they are asked to wear black on the bottom and white on the top. So she had just finished getting ready and I said, "I need pictures". It is so difficult to take pictures inside the auditorium. I just took them ahead of time :~)

Fun times. Her group sings last. It is a little disconcerting because when the 6th grade choir finishes, all those families leave. Then the Mixed choir sings and those families leave. So when the concert choir sings, it is a smaller crowd, but it is a delightful performance!! :~)
It is fun to watch the kids develop into better musicians as the time goes on.

Solo Ensemble and turning 1

This morning was the Solo Ensemble at First Presbyterian Church downtown. Peanut has done this for the last 3 years now. Each year it just gets better. I was trying to upload the video, but for some reason that didn't work out so well. I also have this underline thing going on, so sorry.
Peanut looked beautiful and sang beautifully as well. Her song was in Italian, which is even more difficult to sing because it is hard to understand. We always end up getting the same adjudicator and he is a different fella. The first year, he was incredibly hard on her about her appearance. Since then, he has not commented on any one else's attire. But, he was rather engaging today and she relaxed a lot with him. Gramma Willy, Nana, Papa, Bugg and I all got to watch. We were so very proud!!

After the performance, we headed home to get Peanut changed and to drop off Bugg. Bugg was invited to go to the High School Basketball playoff game at Lincoln high school by Dribbler's parents. So she was in a hurry to get ready and head out with them. Peanut and I, headed out to celebrate a couple of precious little princesses having their first birthday.

One of the perks of being a nurse at a Surgery Center is all these young doctors having babies. My girls get the opportunity to babysit for them and I get to see the babies all the time, which I LOVE!!! So, two of my doctor friends have little girls that were born two days apart! They had had their previous two girls one month apart! They are keeping the place populated :~).
Anyway, Caia was one on Tuesday and Ariana was one on Thursday.
They are two very different little ones. Caia just started crawling well and Ariana is trying to walk. Taking a few steps at a time, not more than 3, but trying.

Here is the joint singing of Happy Birthday to the girls. Caia is on the left and Ariana is on the right, with big sister Sophia peeking at the cake :~).

Having some cake and eating it too!!

She wasn't having the cake :~).

I guess I did get it loaded, this is only 15 seconds cause that is all I can get at one time! Enjoy.

Bugg turns 17 :~)

On Friday night, we started our party. We got an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen, chocolate chip cookie dough. Her friends were coming over for the evening.
They were playing Phase 10!

"C" on the left, had quit, because he got frustrated by not passing the phases. So, he teamed up with "L" his girlfriend.

"G" taught us how to play the game "signs" and it was a huge hit, even Hubs did well.

"L" looking like she was getting sleepy and she was!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Bugg.
You have been a blessing in my life since the day you were born. I have not known the love that I feel for you each passing day watching you grow to become the woman that you are. I cherish you and thank God for you every day. May you be blessed on this your next year.
much love,
Mom

funstuff

Today I started working on the transformation to Bugg's grown up room. She has fallen in love with the black and white theme. For Christmas she got the bedroom set and now we work on the walls. I got this grey primer, because her walls are so dark! I began slowly just around the trim, because the bed and the desk were in my way and I couldn't move them without Hubs. He was busy working on water leaks and so he was under the house. He told me he was turning the water on for a certain amount of time and so Peanut and I needed to get our showers done then.
We did them and went on our errands for this afternoons birthday party's that we both were attending. Then she had softball practice while I went to a birthday party. When I picked her up from practice, so she could run home and shower and change, we came home to Hubs and Bugg putting the finishing touches on the remainder of the room!!! SO the entire room is primed and all I had to do was a little trim. She has picked her colors, so in the next few days we will have an entirely new look to her room. Pretty exciting! There are days that she definitely wants to be a grown up, but, when we talk about moving out to go to college, she adamantly states, "I am NOT moving out!" We'll see what happens :~)

Father/Daughter Dance 2010

On Friday the 12th, the girls had a date with the dad. They have been doing this since they were little. Daddy would get them dressed up and bring them to the hospital to show them off to me before the dance way back when. Now, they need NO help from anyone but each other.
They get dinner and corsages from Daddy and a special night with him. What a treasure. Here are a few photos from their evening.
